Hiding Place

WELCOME TO MY THOUGHT CORNER!

This is my personal "hiding place" where I can talk about my feelings and thoughts freely; the perfect corner where I can give life to my daydreams and complain about my reality; an escape to share my kind of crazy and keep my sanity. I love words that rhyme and that is not a crime. This is a mixture of darkness, butterflies and confetti. If you're still reading this then it's working so go ahead and enjoy the rest of it. - C

The Adjustment Bureau

The Adjustment Bureau is good. Though I was expecting for an action movie like The Bourne series. But it's really good. I shouldn't have listened to other people's opinion or read some lame reviews. It's a Matt Damon movie. It should be good. It must be good. Those reviews are far from what I saw.

BOURNE meets INCEPTION. The only Bourne I can say is Damon's name from both movies - David. Yes, he is Jason Bourne from the movie as we all know but his real name is David Webb if you really see and understand those three movies, you must recall that. In fact, you must know that. The love story can be a little similar but we know that Bourne focuses on his character, the assassin, while The Adjustment Bureau focuses on the love story, wholly and completely. Period. Next!

INCEPTION. One of the reasons why I didn't watch it on the big screen is because of that comparison. I don't want to see another Inception. It's just too heavy. Hereafter is already heavy and slow so forgive me. I don't want to go home and nurse a headache. It turned out, the movie critic is talking about those mind-boggling books and doors and men in suit and hat. Uhm, okay, that's kind of Inception... but no, not really. That's not really mind-boggling. They all represent something or someone in everybody's lives. It won't require a lot of thinking from the people watching to realize. It's not too complicated to discuss over a cup of coffee after watching the movie. It's not too vague to start a debate. Some people are trying to influence us in making decisions but in the end, it's us who decide for ourselves. Plain and simple.

Another review was that it is full of concept but lacks thrill. One point I agree, full of concept. But lacks thrill? I don't think so. I was so into it since the movie started. I didn't lose interest even for just a second. The Movie critic might be waiting for an action kind of thrill. But The Adjustment Bureau is not an action film so don't look for something that is not there. Don't search for something in a place where you know you won't find it. Though I must say that the trailer make it looked like an action-packed film. But then again, the concept and the story is so good that you won't be looking for explosions, helter-skelter car racing, long fight scenes, dead and bleeding people, gun shots, more gun shots... these things wont be necessary.

This is what I will say. Thumbs up Matt Damon! -C-
