I know I promised my next time to be a VIP seat but promises are made to be broken. I watched their first concert all by my lonesome and I decided to see this next one with my friends for two reasons: first, I'm on a financial crisis right now and second, I want to sing along to their songs with my equally crazy friends. So we decided to buy the Upper Box B tickets. Apparently, a lot of people have had emo-gasm over The Script songs and lyrics. Tickets were sold like hotcakes. Sold out. We had to find another way. I cannot miss their show. Eventually, we found someone over the internet and I am not going to discuss the details at length due to some unfortunate events that I want to keep as a secret for now while I'm doing an investigation and espionage ;). What's important is that we were able to get in.
The excitement set in as the lights went off and ear-gasmic Good Ol' Days plays on. There's no better opening song. In fact I tweeted Danny that that is the best song to open their #3 tour. I'm glad they did. Then non-stop hits started. Black boots, black skinny jeans, black t-shirt and black leather jacket. Freaking H-O-T! Way better than your baggy pants two years ago, D. Keep it up! It's just a matter of minutes before he removes his jacket.
Going back to the songs, they did the same acapella thing for The Man Who Can't Be Moved which according to Danny is better than the last time. Sorry sweetheart but I don't agree with you. The last time gave me goosies. Maybe it's just me, maybe it was the section I'm on (from Patron to Lower Box), or maybe it isn't but 2011 was a magical moment for me.
They also sang their current single If You Could See Me Now. It describes what they've been going through says Mark. It was time to test my tongue. ♪♫♪Take that rage, put it on a page take the page to the stage. Blow the roof off the place.♪♫♪Yeah! Hahaha! Their songs are a big challenge to memorize but I did manage. I will always manage :-) Cocky!
It has been their tradition to capture a moment on stage with the crowd in the background. And since it is Easter Sunday, they brought two bunny mascotts and some bunny head gears. Danny wear gloves and a Team Pacman jacket. I swear he looks so fresh in that jacket. I was even planning to steal it from him or better yet steal it with him in it LOL! He wrestled one of the the bunnies. Such a kid.
He and Mark had a beer competition, a race to finish a bottle of beer. He won and holy molly mother of all cows, he poured the remaining beer to his head. Breathe! As much as I want to describe the feeling, I can't because I want to keep this entry as wholesome as possible. So I'll just leave it to your imagination.
They asked the audience to do something spontaneous and call an ex. One girl is so quick to dial the number of his ex-boyfriend named Marvin. Dude, you are one lucky bastard I'm telling you. Danny talked to you. Danny sang to you. Danny talked to you again. Nothing. That's just my favorite The Script song. Jealous girl here.
Two years ago Danny said I'm Yours was written at 3am, now it's 4am. I understand, he's drunk. He said it himself. "I'm not gonna lie I'm still drunk" and sang a song in a drunken manner. He's funny.
If anybody has a video of me singing along to Six Degrees of Separation, I wouldn't want to see it. It was my most all out singing performance. I can relate so much to the song that want to believe it was written for me. I wouldn't be surprised if my voice is louder than Danny's haha! That was a crazy moment.
Speaking of crazy, they left the stage after For The First Time. People started chanting "we want more" as part of the encore routine. They came back. Mark was there. Glen was there. Back up was there. All eyes on the stage. Woooo-oh-oh-oh ♪♫♪ I've been kicked right down. I've been spat in the face. I've been too weighed down to the lowest place. ♪♫♪ WHERE THE HELL IS THAT VOICE!? All heads turned to lower box where the hullabaloo was. Yes, our section. One door away from our seats. WTF! An opportunity slipped through my fingers. MOVE.ON.
Hall of Fame rift came on and I think my feelings are just the same as everybody's feeling in that room. It's one of the best songs but it also gives you that reluctant feeling to enjoy because you know it's about to end. It's the last song. Reality kicked in when the confetti starts falling. Everybody starts clapping. The band said good night and took their "final" bow. But.... it looks like the crowd wants more and let the band know by chanting "we want more" once again. To everyone's delight, the band started discussing which song to play. I can read their lips. Mark started singing "You can be the champion" continuously while the other four are trying to decide. They closed the show the same way they opened it. Good Ol' Days. An encore after the encore. That's a first for me and for them too. Feelings and emotions cannot be put into words. All I know is that in the future, this moment is the good old days. -C
