Hiding Place

WELCOME TO MY THOUGHT CORNER!

This is my personal "hiding place" where I can talk about my feelings and thoughts freely; the perfect corner where I can give life to my daydreams and complain about my reality; an escape to share my kind of crazy and keep my sanity. I love words that rhyme and that is not a crime. This is a mixture of darkness, butterflies and confetti. If you're still reading this then it's working so go ahead and enjoy the rest of it. - C

Changing Lives Concert

I have this fear of being too early for a call time so I tend to wait and kill some time to the point where I always end up being late. This Changing Lives concert is no different. I was feeling so excited that I was thinking if I go to the venue ahead of time, I will be teased and accused of being overly excited which is very true. It’s just that I don’t want my friends to notice. I know there is nothing wrong with that but I feel like I am showing too much emotions on everything. So I was just trying to… Okay, enough of the babble. There wasn’t enough time and the traffic was bad and I was late.

We meet at the always-meeting-place McDonald’s and we went by the bay to have some dinner. I can’t remember the name of the restaurant because I was looking at the concert venue the whole time. Okay maybe not the whole time but I’m still not sure of the diner, Classic Savory I think. Alright, it doesn’t matter. We made our way to the concert grounds where people are already filling up.

I was with a friend and two of my officemates. We were on the Silver section, a step up for me because I always watch from there, at the back. And by the way, my ticket was a birthday gift from my officemates last March 9.

We were already standing there at 8-ish and by 9-ish we’re already wondering why there was still no sign of them. Then we just assume that they probably let the Earth Hour finish first before they started. SM Mall of Asia was promoting it after all. The show started at 10pm, an hour later after the said event.

Going to the venue, I was thinking how Timbaland is supposed to do a show when he is all about auto-tune? And how am I supposed to enjoy a performance from a person I am not a fan of? I was just there for Justin Timberlake who, at that point in time, is not even certain to be doing a live performance. It turned out I didn’t have to think after all. You don’t have to be a fan to enjoy his music. I loved his $#!* beats! If every club mix sounds like that, I doubt if I would ever want to take a second to catch my breath.

He made the audience chant some words like “I love you, Timbaland” and we (my friends and I) will scream, “I love you, Timberlake!” It was so funny that we were laughing so hard and we didn’t realize that were being too loud. But we just don’t care. Timbo can’t hear us anyway. We get to sing along to some of his songs like If We Ever Meet Again (with Katy Perry on the big screen). The lighting was crazy. Very nice!  The Jojo came and performed the song Lose Control with him. She then took over the stage and sang Too Little, Too Late. I was a bit disappointed at her but it didn’t matter. I was there for JT.

There was a 10-minute body-bumpin and body-gridin’ mixes from Timbo’s DJ. I guess that was to prepare us for some Timbo-and-JT performance. They fired up with Carry Out and the crowd went wild and gaga even when JT’s voice can be heard over but no sign of him on the stage. Everybody was screaming (even the boys) so loud but he has yet to show himself up. But everybody knows it was him. Timbo was kind enough to lend him the stage and kid JT about owing him a lot of money before doing so.

JT was wearing a fisherman’s hat, a ckeckered open polo, a green shirt and a cargo pants and I don’t know what else under it. Ooops! Me and my dirty mind! Lol. It was a treat for everyone who watched the concert. I was just expecting for three or four songs since it was Timbo’s concert and he was just a guest. But he gave us more than what we expected. He did Summer Love, Until the End of Time (piano), Cry Me A River, My Love, What Goes Around Comes Around (piano) and his last song, Sexy Back with Timbo of course. He was dancing sexy the whole time. Uhm, maybe that was just me. And then there was the fireworks display.

It was time to wake up but I was still hang over Timbo’s beatboxin’ ♪♫♪ Manila, Manila, Manila, Manila ♪♫♪ -C
